Professor Koichi Kawakami receives the 2021 Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard Award

Professor Koichi Kawakami, National Institute of Genetics, received the 2021 Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard Award from the European Zebrafish Society in recognition for developing cutting-edge technology for Zebrafish research and practicing open science by making the transgenic fish lines (over 2,0000) maintained at his lab available to the research community.

The award ceremony and lecture were held at the 2021 IZFS meeting on June 21, 2021.

Professor Kawakami leads one of the NBRP’s Fundamental Technology Upgrading Program project on Zebrafish.
