The RIKEN BioResource Research Center (BRC) has, until now, covered the costs associated with the transportation of mouse strains for deposit, including the provision of shipping containers and logistical arrangements, provided that depositors prepared the animals.
However, due to the recent increase in transportation and related operational costs, it has become difficult to maintain this level of financial support. Accordingly, from April 1, 2026, depositors will be responsible for all costs associated with the transportation of live mice, including shipping fees and transport materials.
